Grace to you and peace from God who is our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer.

Thank your for visiting the website of St. John's United Church of Christ on Stuart Circle in the historic Fan District of Richmond Virginia.

In 1620, as our Congregationalist fore bearers prepared to depart from Europe for the "New World", Pastor John Robinson reminded these spirtual pilgrims that "there is yet more light and truth to break forth form God's holy word."

Today , we proclaim to 21st century spiritual pilgrims that "God is still speaking."

These two statements capture the opeiness and adventure of the United Church of Christ.  We are a Church that will never claim we have all the answers to your questions.  We are a Church that is always seeking, discerning and discovering. What we claim, however, is that you are welcome to come and learn and grown and journey with us as you discern God'sclaim upon you.

St. John's United Church of Christ has a history of more than 160 years of embracing those in need of a spiritual home.  Historically, we reached out to German immigrants.  Today, we are becoming a much more diverse community.  On any given Sunday, you will worship with retired persons and students, single and married, professional and laborers, gay and straight, jacket plus tie and jeans and cowboy boots, black and white, certain and uncertain.

And we pledge to you that no matter who you are, no matter where you are on life's journey, you are welocme here.  We are St. John's United Church of Christ, a congregation that listens tot he still speaking God.
